AWS credits for startups below Series B. Self-funded founders can apply directly under the Founders tier and start with $1,000, rising to $5,000 for select participants. Startups linked to an accelerator, angel or VC can apply under the Portfolio tier for up to $200,000. A further invite-only tier exists for AI startups.

Who can apply
- Has not raised a Series B.
- Founded in the last 10 years.
- AWS account on a paid tier plan.
- New to Activate Credits, or asking for more than you received before.
- The Portfolio tier needs an Organization ID from your Activate Provider.
How to apply
- 1Create or sign in with an AWS Builder ID using a professional email.
- 2Pick Founders if self-funded, or enter your provider's Org ID for Portfolio.
- 3Add product, funding and company details, link an AWS account, and submit.
- 4AWS says to expect a reply in 5 to 10 business days.
The catch
The headline $200,000 is not open to bootstrapped founders. Without an Activate Provider's Org ID you are capped at $5,000, and most people should plan around the first $1,000.
