What it is
This is a website where fashion-minded freelancers list themselves as stylists and shoppers pay them for outfit advice. A customer picks a stylist, describes an occasion such as a wedding or a first job, and receives a lookbook with product links, or a chat or video session. Stylists join for free. You collect payment through a gateway such as Razorpay and keep a share of every completed order. Product links can also earn affiliate commission. Quality is controlled through portfolio checks, reviews and ratings. It aims at shoppers in India's larger and mid-sized cities.
The problem it solves
Professional stylists are priced for the wealthy, so most people in tier-1 and tier-2 cities rely on friends or Instagram reels for advice. Meanwhile many young fashion enthusiasts have a good eye for outfits but no way to earn from it. Each side needs the other, and neither has a trusted place to meet and pay safely.
Who it suits
- Fashion-aware founders who already know stylists or creators
- Operations-minded people who can vet and onboard freelancers
- Builders who can use a ready-made marketplace tool
How it makes money
- Commission of 15 to 20 percent on each paid styling order, on orders of around ₹2,000
- Affiliate income when customers buy products from outfit links
How to test it this month
- 1Skip the app. Recruit ten Instagram stylists, agree on a fixed package such as three outfits for one occasion, and collect payment by Razorpay link.
- 2Offer the package at an introductory price to twenty friends of friends, and personally review each lookbook before it reaches the customer.
- 3After thirty completed orders, see which part hurts most, matching, payments or chat, and build or buy only that.
What to watch out for
Marketplaces struggle on small orders: 15 percent of a ₹2,000 order is little, so you need many orders and low support costs. Customers and stylists may also move to WhatsApp after the first chat and skip your commission. Stylist quality varies. You will hold customers' photos and take payments, so check privacy and payout rules with a professional.
