What it is
You run a platform with two sides. Newsletter owners and creators post a campaign that says how much they will pay for each verified new subscriber. Promoters, such as bloggers and people with email lists, apply, get a personal tracking link and share it. Your system checks that each sign-up is a real person with a working email, pays the promoter and keeps a commission. Campaign owners can also pay to be shown at the top of the list. Later versions can add invite-only campaigns and pay for verified social media followers, not only email sign-ups.
The problem it solves
New newsletters and small creators struggle to find their first thousand readers. Ads cost money before anyone knows if they work, and bots fill sign-up forms with fake emails. Promoters with a real audience have no easy way to earn from recommending a newsletter. This idea pays only when a real person signs up.
Who it suits
- Builders comfortable with databases, payments and tracking links
- People already active in newsletter or creator communities
- Founders who can survive a slow two-sided start
How it makes money
- A 15% commission on each payout to a promoter
- Featured campaign slots, for example ₹999 a week
- Paid add-ons for fraud checks and deeper reports
- Invite-only campaigns for brands that want chosen promoters
How to test it this month
- 1Message 20 newsletter owners you know and ask whether they would pay per verified subscriber, and what amount would feel fair to them.
- 2Run one campaign by hand with a spreadsheet, tracking links and a manual email check before you write any code or set up payouts.
- 3Recruit five promoters from newsletter groups, pay them yourself for approved sign-ups, and note every fake or duplicate sign-up you catch.
What to watch out for
The cold start is the hard part: campaigns need promoters and promoters need campaigns. Fraud is the second problem, because people will fake sign-ups to get paid. Holding and paying out other people's money raises payment, tax and GST questions, and storing sign-up emails brings privacy duties. Check all of this with a CA or lawyer before launch.
Costs and prices are estimates from our plan, not results from a real business. Nothing here promises income.
