Current status
MSInS page shows the revised scheme under a Government Resolution dated 9 October 2026, with a live post-grant claim form and no closing date.
Who can apply
- Valid DPIIT recognition on the date of application
- Incorporated or registered in Maharashtra, with real business operations there
- Annual turnover up to ₹5 crore for domestic claims, ₹100 crore for international claims
- The IP comes from something the applicant owns or lawfully controls
- Patent granted, or design or software copyright registered, before a startup claims
How to apply
- 1Hire any qualified IP professional and pay the costs yourself
- 2After grant or registration, submit the claim form with invoices and proof of payment
- 3MSInS checks the claim and pays the approved amount into your bank account
The catch
You pay first and get money back only after the patent is granted, which can take years. The cap is lifetime per applicant, and a rate card limits each activity.
