Student Startup and Innovation Policy (SSIP 2.0) Proof of Concept Support

Gujarat's student innovation policy pays for proof of concept and prototype work by people up to 35 years old who are students, alumni or dropouts of a Gujarat institution. Support reaches them through mapped universities and institutes, with up to ₹2.5 lakh per prototype for higher and technical education and help with patent costs.

Startup Gujarat page gives the policy period as January 11, 2022 to March 31, 2027, so the term is running. No central application window seen.
Who can apply
- Age up to 35 years
- Student, alumnus or alumna, or dropout
- Registered as a beneficiary at a Gujarat educational institution
- Innovation improves a product, process or service, or is a scalable business model
How to apply
- 1Check whether your institution is a mapped grantee under SSIP
- 2Register as a beneficiary at that institution
- 3Submit your proposal for evaluation by the institution's committee
The catch
This goes through your institute, so the bar and speed depend on them. Founders over 35 are out, and the policy term ends in March 2027 unless extended.
