Rainmatter Foundation grants
Rainmatter Foundation
Multi-year, usually unrestricted grants from a nonprofit founded in India in 2019, for organisations and fellows working to restore the environment through action, research, advocacy and policy. Focus areas include forests, water, soil, food systems and energy. For-profit startups are pointed to a separate investment arm instead. No grant size is published.

Current status
An enquiry form is live, but no open calls are listed. For conservation work, the page says the foundation prefers to reach out to organisations itself.
Who can apply
- Organisations working in the foundation's focus areas.
- Fellowships are for individuals whose work fits its thesis.
- For-profit startups are sent to the separate investment track, Rainmatter Capital.
How to apply
- 1Read the focus areas page to see if your work fits.
- 2Send an initial enquiry through the Get in touch form.
The catch
This is not a startup grant. For-profit companies go to Rainmatter Capital, which is investment money. Grants usually run three to five years and start with a conversation, not a set application round.
We read this on the official page on 4 November 2026. Rules and dates change, so confirm there before you apply. Founders Wing is not connected to this scheme, does not help with applications and never charges for access to it.
