Prototype Grant and Sustenance Allowance, Uttar Pradesh Startup Policy 2026
Department of IT & Electronics, Government of Uttar Pradesh
Under Uttar Pradesh's new startup policy, registered startups can get a one-time prototype grant, plus a monthly allowance until the prototype stage. Software startups building standalone or technically advanced applications qualify. Women-led and some other founders, some sectors, and Purvanchal or Bundelkhand startups get 50% more on the prototype grant. Deep tech can get up to double.

Type
Grant
Where
Uttar Pradesh
Current status
Policy text on Invest UP says it runs five years from notification and replaces the 2020 policy. StartinUP's own policy page still shows old 2020 amounts, and selection guidelines are still to be notified.
Who can apply
- Registered on both DPIIT and StartinUP
- Incorporated in Uttar Pradesh with an innovative idea
- Incubated at a StartinUP recognised incubator, with its recommendation
- Not basic websites, information portals or simple apps
How to apply
- 1Register on DPIIT and the StartinUP portal
- 2Join a recognised incubator and get its recommendation
- 3Apply on StartinUP by your stage; expert committee and PIU decide
The catch
The portal still shows lower 2020 figures, so confirm which rate applies to you. The grant pays 70% upfront and 30% as reimbursement, and you need an incubator on board first.
We read this on the official page on 4 November 2026. Rules and dates change, so confirm there before you apply. Founders Wing is not connected to this scheme, does not help with applications and never charges for access to it.
