Seed Capital, Uttar Pradesh Startup Policy 2026
Department of IT & Electronics, Government of Uttar Pradesh
Money for Uttar Pradesh startups to refine a prototype, develop the product, test it and market an MVP. The standard limit is ₹15 lakh, with larger proposals considered case by case. It is paid half in advance and half against milestones. The deep tech section also offers compute cost reimbursement of up to ₹2 lakh a year.
What you can get
Up to ₹15 lakh; proposals up to ₹50 lakh considered case by case
Do you repay it?
No
Type
Grant
Where
Uttar Pradesh
Current status
Policy text on Invest UP says it runs five years from notification and replaces the 2020 policy. Selection guidelines are to come, and StartinUP still lists 2020 seed figures.
Who can apply
- Registered on both DPIIT and StartinUP
- Incorporated in Uttar Pradesh
- Incubated at a recognised incubator with its recommendation, unless scaling stage or beyond
- At the stage for launching an MVP
How to apply
- 1Register on DPIIT and the StartinUP portal
- 2Get your incubator's recommendation
- 3Apply on StartinUP; the expert committee recommends and the PIU approves
The catch
Anything above ₹15 lakh is discretionary. The second half depends on meeting milestones you commit to, and portal figures may lag the new policy, so confirm before you budget.
